The DNSid Framework and Identity Digital

Innovation Labs, a subsidiary of DNS registry Identity Digital, is proposing DNSid—a registry designed to anchor AI agents to existing domain name infrastructure. Key components of the proposal include:

■Linking each AI agent to a verifiable internet domain name.

■Utilizing cryptographic proofs to log registration and activity over time.

■Conducting trials with unnamed hyperscalers and identity-focused corporations.

Solving the Accountability Gap

Allie Kline, interim CEO of Innovation Labs, warns that allowing a single hyperscaler to control such standards could lead to significant market resistance. Vint Cerf emphasizes that widespread adoption will likely mirror the evolution of TCP/IP, driven by functional necessity and user demand for interoperability.

The standardization of AI agent identities via protocols like DNSid is a vital precursor to the full automation of global logistics.
