On her 'Net Worth and Chill' podcast, she advised, 'If you have credit card debt, pay it off before investing.' Federal Reserve data shows the average credit card interest rate was 20.94% in May 2026, while the S&P 500 has only grown 13% year-to-date. Tu emphasized, 'A debt growing at 20-30% APR will act as a significant barrier to catching up to the 10% annual growth of the market.' She also stated, 'The best day to start investing was yesterday, but today is the second best. However, if you have credit card debt, pay it off before investing.' This advice is particularly relevant for young investors and those burdened by high-interest debt.
