Home Goods Sector: Stainless Steel Tariffs and Cost Pressures Threaten Sustainability

Turkey's home goods sector is grappling with rising cost pressures from increased tariffs on stainless steel imports. Rising production costs are weakening export competitiveness. The Chairman of the Turkish Home Goods Manufacturers' Association (ZÜCDER), Burak Önder, stated that the additional tariffs not only affect production but also export performance. Önder emphasized the need for cost reductions to maintain sector competitiveness. The removal of additional tariffs on stainless steel would provide crucial support to manufacturers in terms of investment and exports.
