ABD Enerji Enformasyon İdaresi (EIA) tarafından yayınlanan son veriler, ABD'nin stratejik petrol rezervlerinin (SPR) 1980'lerden bu yana görülen en kr

Data released by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) reveals that the US Strategic Petroleum Reserves (SPR) have plunged to their most critical level since the 1980s, signaling a rapid erosion of the buffer created against global supply shocks. Following recent disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz and subsequent coordinated stock releases, Washington's strategic reserves have been drawn down to a staggering low of 304.8 million barrels.
Descent to a 43-Year Low: Historic Decline
According to weekly records maintained by the EIA since August 1982, current reserve levels mark the lowest point recorded since the week of February 19-25, 1983. This dramatic decline lays bare the magnitude of uncertainties currently plaguing global energy markets. The Hormuz Shock and IEA's Coordinated Response
A daily supply disruption of 20 million barrels caused by blockages in the Strait of Hormuz following operations by the US and Israel against Iran created a deep supply deficit in international markets. In response to this crisis, the International Energy Agency (IEA) launched its largest coordinated intervention in history, calling on member nations to release a total of 400 million barrels of oil into the market. From a portfolio perspective, the rapid depletion of strategic reserves poses a risk of increased volatility in energy prices in the medium term. This environment signals the persistence of inflationary pressures while creating a landscape that strengthens cash flows for oil companies. However, given that replenishing reserves will be a costly and long-term process, it is critical for value investors to closely monitor dividend potential in the energy sector and maintain a balanced, cash-weighted portfolio strategy against macroeconomic risks.
