BIST 100 Rises by 164.72 Points, TCMB Decision Expected
The BIST 100 index rose by 164.72 points compared to the previous close, with total trading volume reaching 193 billion lira. The banking index gained 0.08%, while the holding index rose by 1.45%. Among sector indices, financial leasing and factoring led with a 2.46% gain, while textiles and leather suffered the most with a 2.62% loss. Global markets are showing a mixed performance ahead of major tech companies' earnings reports, amid rising geopolitical risks and increasing oil prices. Investors are focusing on the ECB's interest rate decision and ECB President Christine Lagarde's remarks. In Turkey, the BIST 100 index is following a bullish trend in parallel with European markets, with eyes on the TCMB's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) decision. Analysts note that tomorrow's Turkish consumer confidence index, TCMB's interest rate decision, and weekly money and banking statistics will be closely watched, while in Europe, the ECB's rate decision and consumer confidence index are expected to be monitored. Technically, the BIST 100 index has resistance at 14,300 and 14,400 points, with support at 14,000 and 13,900 points.
Markets are now awaiting how the TCMB's rate decision and the ECB's move will impact sentiment. A break above 14,300 could sustain the bullish momentum, while a drop below 14,000 may trigger selling pressure.
