GTN and Payward Expand xStocks into Global Markets: A New Tokenization Frontier
GTN and Payward have partnered to expand the xStocks platform beyond U.S. borders, targeting Asia, Europe, and other financial hubs. The initial phase will focus on Hong Kong-listed shares, followed by the UK, Europe, and South Korea. By integrating GTN's traditional market infrastructure, Payward aims to transform xStocks from a U.S.-centric platform into a global access layer for securities. This collaboration could accelerate the global adoption of tokenization, enabling users to trade assets outside traditional exchange operating hours. Payward's global head, Mark Greenberg, emphasized that 'the biggest untokenized asset class is the rest of the world.' xStocks, which started with U.S. equities and ETFs, now includes over 500 tokenized assets, $35 billion in transaction volume, and nearly 200,000 users. The expansion plans to offer xStocks alongside existing investment products once GTN secures necessary licenses.
The GTN-Payward partnership signals a new era in global capital markets, blending traditional and crypto asset classes. This could unlock fresh opportunities for investors in sectors like semiconductors, space tech, and renewables.
