BIST 100 Decline: Global Tensions and Macro Data Reshape Market Sentiment

The BIST 100 index closed the week with a 0.95% decline at 13,943.87, while the banking index gained 0.03% and the holding index lost 0.58%. Among sectors, IT gained 2.40%, while financial leasing and factoring lost 2.27%. Tensions between the U.S. and Iran, along with debates over AI sustainability, negatively impacted markets. Analysts noted that the U.S. unemployment rate, PCE price index, and Fed rate decision will be closely monitored. Technical analysis highlighted support levels at 13,800 and 13,700, and resistance at 14,100 and 14,200. In VİOP, the BIST 30 index futures contract fell 0.84% to 16,253.00.

Global risks and macro data will likely drive short-term volatility in Turkish markets, with the Fed’s rate decision expected to trigger further market reactions.
