Digital Asset’s Canton Network, in collaboration with former U.S. House Speaker Paul Ryan’s American Idea Foundation, is set to launch the RISE program in 2027, a blockchain-based system for distributing state-administered benefits across three U.S. states. The initiative will combine multiple benefits into monthly or bi-monthly payments, with spending rules applied to categories like food, childcare, and cash. The system will automatically adjust benefit levels based on household income changes and allow participating agencies to track payments, balances, and compliance data through Canton’s Global Synchronizer. Digital Asset’s Canton Coin (CC), with a market cap of $4.1 billion, has surged 10% in the past week and ranks 23rd among cryptocurrencies. This pilot could mark a significant milestone for Canton in the public benefits sector, following its recent institutional finance projects.
