Turkey's Ministry of Animal Health has implemented critical changes to the Brusellozo and Tuberculosis management regulations, published in the Official Gazette. The Brusellozo regulations have been updated to require that cattle over 12 months old be tested for re-certification. Two negative tests will be required for re-certification. Tuberculosis test intervals have been extended from 42 to 84 days. Additionally, if animals are brought in from non-certified herds, two tests must be conducted at least every 6 months. The compensation regulations for animal diseases have also been revised: For tuberculosis, 90% of the value of affected cattle (excluding those in certified herds) will be compensated. For Brusellozo, 90% of the value of cattle tested positive will be compensated. These changes will significantly impact the financial and operational stability of the livestock sector.
