Iraq PM Zeydi to Visit Turkey After Iran: Water Management and Energy Cooperation Top Agenda

Iraq Prime Minister Ali Zeydi will conduct an official visit to Turkey after his recent trip to Iran. Iraq Government Spokesperson Haydar el-Abudi announced that Zeydi will visit Turkey with a high-level delegation in the coming weeks. The meetings will focus on water resources and water management, energy cooperation, and ensuring the continuous supply of natural gas from Iran. El-Abudi emphasized that Iraq's diplomatic efforts to resolve regional crises continue, with Zeydi's foreign engagements focusing on efforts to end wars. The spokesperson also noted that Iraq signed 48 agreements during Zeydi's recent visit to the US, while no date has been set for a visit to Syria. Iraq's balanced foreign policy and the state's control over weapons were also highlighted.

Iraq's visit to Turkey could mark a significant step in water resource cooperation, particularly as Turkey grapples with water scarcity. The energy partnership with Iran is crucial for Iraq's energy security.
