Key Highlights
Sermaye Piyasası Kurulu (SPK), Aksis Uluslararası Bağımsız Denetim AŞ ve Bayrak Ebt Taban Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ’ye yönelik sert yaptırımları açıkladı.

The Capital Markets Board (SPK) has announced stringent sanctions against Aksis International Independent Auditing Inc. and Bayrak EBT Base Industry and Trade Inc.
Independent Audit Contract Breach and Monetary Penalty
Aksis International terminated its independent audit contract without Board approval, violating Article 8 of Part Three of the “Regulation on Independent Audit Standards in the Capital Market” (Series X, No. 22). SPK imposed an administrative fine of $445,243.49 (Turkish Lira) on the company.Trading Ban on Bayrak EBT and Suspicious Activities
Bayrak EBT faces scrutiny under Articles 104 and 107 of the Capital Market Law No. 6362. Based on reasonable suspicion of prohibited conduct, a six‑month trading suspension was imposed on Berker AKIN, Turgut AKIN, and Gökçem AKIN starting from 21‑Aug‑2026. The decision follows the provisions of the Information Misuse and Market Manipulation Regulations (V‑101.1).Potential Implications for Market Participants
Broader Regulatory Landscape and Outlook
SPK’s interventions underscore a commitment to transparency and market integrity in Turkey’s capital markets. Strengthening audit oversight and enhancing managerial accountability are expected to mitigate future breaches.Expert Note (Aylin Güneş): Such enforcement actions send a dual message to long‑term value investors. While regulatory risk must be factored into pricing models, companies with solid fundamentals, robust dividend yields, and disciplined buy‑back programs remain attractive beyond short‑term turbulence. Incorporating a “regulatory compliance score” into portfolio risk assessments can further refine risk management.
