Tekirdağ's Parcel-Based Insurance Model: A New Standard for Agriculture
Tekirdağ Tarım ve Orman Müdürü Mehmet Aksoy, kentte tarım sigortalarında sigortalılık oranının yüzde 80'in üzerine çıktığını açıkladı. Aksoy, bu oranı
Mehmet Aksoy, the Director of Agriculture and Forestry in Tekirdağ, announced that the insurance coverage rate in agricultural insurance has exceeded 80%. He highlighted plans to increase this rate to 100% in the coming years, emphasizing the potential for expanding the parcel-based yield insurance model nationwide. The initiative particularly benefits small-scale farmers by reducing risks. Aksoy stressed the importance of farmers insuring their products under the Farmer Registration System (ÇKS) and the Agricultural Insurance Pool (TARSİM). He called on watermelon and melon producers to register their production, noting that this data contributes to agricultural planning. Farmers cited the system's effectiveness in protecting against risks like wildfires.
This innovation represents a significant step towards precision and reliability in agriculture. Markets are monitoring the potential positive impact on Turkey's agricultural insurance sector.
