Turkey's Agricultural Output: Rising to 7th Largest Producer with $83 Billion in Production

Trade Minister Mehmet Müezzinhoca Bolat highlighted Turkey's leadership in the agricultural sector at the Tekirdağ Agriculture, Industry, Livestock and Technology Fair. The minister emphasized that Turkey is the world's 7th largest agricultural producer with $83 billion in production and is among the top 10 self-sufficient countries. Bolat also noted that Turkey's agricultural products have become the first agricultural country in Europe and saw a significant increase from $23 billion in 2002. The minister highlighted a 13.3% growth rate in the agricultural sector this year and the contribution of rainfall since the beginning of 2026 to agricultural production. Bolat underscored Turkey's position among the top 10 globally in industry, agriculture, and services, and the country's leadership in agricultural machinery and products. At the fair's opening, Bolat described Tekirdağ as a shining star of Turkey and shared insights on the city's economic developments.
