Global market fluctuations and currency movements are once again reshaping fuel prices in Turkey, with the latest data showing significant increases on Sunday, July 19, 2026. Consecutive VAT hikes have pushed the prices of gasoline, diesel, and LPG across the country. In Istanbul's European side, gasoline is priced at 65.69 TL per liter, while diesel costs 73.13 TL per liter. On the Anatolian side, gasoline is 65.54 TL per liter, and diesel is 72.98 TL per liter. LPG prices stand at 31.19 TL per liter in the European side and 30.59 TL per liter in the Anatolian side. These hikes are placing additional pressure on transportation costs, which could further strain consumer spending.
The volatility in fuel prices reflects the broader sensitivity of energy markets to global dynamics. From a consumer finance perspective, these increases may signal a prolonged upward trend, particularly for diesel, which could disproportionately affect commercial vehicle owners and truckers.
