Apple has alerted users to a new scam where fraudsters are impersonating bank representatives over FaceTime to steal account credentials. The scheme involves scammers convincing victims to share their screens while logging into their online banking, allowing them to capture passwords, account numbers, and one-time codes in real-time. According to the Federal Trade Commission, $3.5 billion was lost to imposter scams in 2025, with bank impersonation accounting for the largest share.
