ITU Rocket Team's National Tech Investment: Submarine Rocket Project to Reach Industrial Level

The ITU SUNGUR Rocket Team, led by Zeynep Betül Köroğlu, a second-year student in Aerospace Engineering at Istanbul Technical University, is aiming to contribute to national technology development through its submarine rocket project at TEKNOFEST Mavi Vatan. The 27-member team, which includes students from various engineering fields, successfully completed the competition tasks, including moving 50 meters forward and performing a U-turn. Additionally, the rocket demonstrated a buoyancy movement, releasing a model rocket. The team is targeting championship while planning to reach industrial level within a few years. Köroğlu emphasized that the project could be used in national defense and highlighted Turkey's potential in maritime technology. She praised the role of TEKNOFEST-like events in boosting young people's interest in national technology development and encouraged participation in such competitions.

Turkey must accelerate the transition of such projects to industrial levels to establish leadership in submarine technologies. These initiatives will play a critical role in national defense and technological advancement.
