Türkiye'nin ikinci yüksek hızlı tren hattı olan Ankara-Konya YHT'si, 23 Ağustos 2011'de hizmete girerek ülkenin demir yolu ulaşımında devrim niteliğin
Turkey's second high-speed rail line, the Ankara-Konya HSR, marked a historic milestone when it entered service on August 23, 2011, revolutionizing the country's railway transportation. Transport Minister Uraloğlu highlighted that the line reduced travel time between Ankara and Konya from over 10 hours to under 2 hours. Prior to the line's opening, there was no direct railway connection between the two cities, forcing travelers to route through Eskişehir-Afyonkarahisar. This development significantly expanded Turkey's high-speed rail network in Anatolia. Uraloğlu celebrated the line's 15th anniversary, noting that it has carried 22.8 million passengers since its launch and currently transports an average of 3,500 passengers daily. Additionally, he emphasized that Konya's high-speed rail connections to Istanbul and Karaman have strengthened its position in the national railway network. Uraloğlu underscored the critical role high-speed rail plays in Turkey's economic and social development, calling it a foundational element of the country's growth. This achievement is seen as a significant step toward enhancing Turkey's international recognition.
