The KKTC Maritime Traffic Services System will be operational on July 20, significantly enhancing Turkey's maritime surveillance capabilities in the Eastern Mediterranean. Minister Uraloğlu emphasized the project's development using domestic and national technologies, highlighting HAVELSAN's contracting role and the use of ASELSAN's SERDAR 7M radars. The system will include the Gazimağusa central hub and stations in Karpaz, Sadrazamköy, and Çayırova. Key features: - Vessel identification - Continuous traffic monitoring - Emergency alerts - Meteorological data sharing.
This initiative will bolster Turkey's maritime security in the Eastern Mediterranean, supporting trade and security operations. The use of domestic technology will further strengthen the country's independence.
