Restaurant management and finance platform MarginEdge has secured $80 million in a Series D funding round aimed at bolstering its artificial intelligence capabilities.

Investment Surge Reshapes Dining Operations

Co-led by Schooner Capital and Ten Coves Capital, the latest round brings the company’s total funding to $162 million. Existing investors, including Osage Venture Partners, Derive Ventures, and Western Alliance Bank, also participated, reinforcing confidence in MarginEdge’s long-term vision.

■The new capital will be utilized to expand AI-related products built on proprietary restaurant data.

■The platform currently serves over 13,000 restaurants, having processed more than 40 million invoices covering a purchasing volume of $28 billion.

■This year, MarginEdge introduced new AI features, including "Tom the Tomato," an in-built assistant designed to optimize operations.

Data-Driven Efficiency in Supply Chain Management

Founded in 2015, MarginEdge combines purchasing, inventory, recipes, sales, and accounting into a single platform to reduce manual back-office work. A recent innovation allows operators to connect their data with AI platforms like ChatGPT and Claude via a specific Model Context Protocol connector.

■New features include expanded payment options through the MarginEdge Card and invoice automation.

■The firm plans to continue investing in research and development, alongside sales and marketing initiatives.
