TMO Unveils Hazelnut Purchase Scheme: Pricing and Appointment System Detailed

The Agricultural Products Office (TMO) has officially announced the 2026 hazelnut purchase scheme, outlining both pricing and quality requirements.

Pricing Structure

Based on a 50% sound internal hazelnut benchmark, TMO set distinct prices for three quality grades:

■Giresun grade: 255 TL per kg

■Levant grade: 250 TL per kg

■Sharp grade: 245 TL per kg

In addition, for every 1 % increase in yield above 50 %, an extra premium will be applied:

■Giresun grade: 5.10 TL per kg

■Levant grade: 5.00 TL per kg

■Sharp grade: 4.90 TL per kg

Appointment-Based Procurement

Purchases will be conducted on an appointment basis, with the system becoming operational on 17 August 2026. Producers can secure appointments via:

■TMO’s official website

■e‑Government portal

■TMO branch offices and collection points

TMO emphasized that technical infrastructure, staffing, and financing are fully prepared to ensure a smooth rollout.

Quality Criteria and Eligibility

The following quality standards are mandatory for acceptance:

■Moisture content ≤ 5.5 %

■Sound internal hazelnut proportion ≥ 40 %

■Wrinkled hazelnut proportion ≤ 10 %

■Rotten or damaged hazelnut proportion ≤ 7 %

■Foreign material proportion ≤ 0.5 %

Furthermore, cracked, broken, or shelled nuts must contain ≤ 10 % internal hazelnut, and all batches must be registered in the Crop Registration System (ÇKS).

Payment Timeline and Producer Outlook

TMO announced that payments will be transferred to producers’ bank accounts 21 days after delivery. Producers are also required to update their 2026 ÇKS records and deliver the nuts in accordance with the scheduled appointment.
